There is NO FAILURE, ONLY FEEDBACK

In the previous post, we have read about Susan Boyle, an inspirational 47 years old woman that prove many critics and skeptics very wrong, and announce to the world that “Everything Is Possible”. She has instantly became an Inspirational source for many. She has proved to us that everyone can succeed, if they have beliefs in themselves.

If we can have the same beliefs they do, we will have the ability to produce the same results in our lives.

However, many a times, talents have been discouraged to pursue their dreams due to negative comments, and “labeling”. Many were labeled as “Failures” whether directly or indirectly.

To be successful, we need to believe that there are “NO Failures”, there is only “Feedback”.

Let’s check out another recent video from Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) and see how 12 years old Shaheen treat turn a “not-so-positive comment/gesture” into a “Feedback” to give a world class performance.

Many of us (even adults) would crumple at the gesture given by Simon Cowell (one of the judge).

Shaheen proves everyone wrong by believing he can do it!

PS: Let me know your thoughts on it. I would love to hear from you.

Most Inspirational Video EVER – Susan Boyle (Britain’s Got Talent)

in Worth-mentioning

Hello everyone,

If you have not heard about “Susan Boyle” yet, i trust you will be very glad to read about this blogpost. Her video in YouTube has been viewed more than 25 millions time (that is 25,000,000 ++ times) after it has been posted just 7 days ago! A day ago when i watched it @ 1am in morning, i had “goose pimples” and my body was shivering…when i watched the 2nd and 3rd time, the effect was still electrifying! Simple INSPIRING!

We have hear of different ways and tools available to “motivate” and to “inspire” people around us. There are:

  • Motivational Movies
  • Motivational Songs
  • Motivational Speech
  • Motivational Books, etc by Gurus, Masters and Professional Trainers

But none of the above can ever beat a basic “Live Example” of a commoner that proves to be the ultimate motivator (if a commoner can do it, i can do it too!) – just by proving others wrong (especially those that don’t believe you can do it).

Presenting to you…Susan Boyle that shock the world in Britain’s Got Talent.

Susan Boyle is 47 years old and came from a small village in Scotland. She is currently unemployed and has never kissed a guy before. Look at the audience when Simon Cowell (one of the 3 judges) ask Susan to introduce herself. Many were skeptical and cynical when Susan, a plain-jane told the audience she would like to be a professional singer and would want to be Elaine Page.

She proves everyone wrong (see the expression on the audience faces as well as comments by judges) and wows the judges with her performance, singing “I dreamed a dream” from Les Miserables.

One lesson i personally learned from this video: Live your dreams! Do not let skeptics and cynics obstruct your passion & belief. Nothing Is Impossible if you put heart and soul into it. Do Your Best!”

And you will shock the world!

Book Review – The One Minute Entrepreneur

I have been reading alot over the last few months on self-improvement books in the area of Pschology, Motiation, Guerilla Marketing, Business (especially books on Entrepreneurship).

Today i am going to share with you a must-read book for all entrepreneurs, that i have borrowed from the local National Library:

The One Minute Entrepreneur

by Ken Blanchard, Don Hutson and Ethan Willis

The book emphasizes on the the Secrets to Creating and Sustaining A Successful Business.

I will just share with you a few of the book’s “One Minute Insights” that i deemed as necessary for successful entrepreneurs.

BUILDING A STRONG FOUNDATION

  • Associate with people you admire and can learn from
  • Keep a notebook of the wisdom you read, hear, and learn, and distill them into notes
  • Good life is built on strong, solid values such as integrity, love, honesty, and purposeful work.
  • You never need to cheat to win
  • What is right is more important than who is right

GROWING IN KNOWLEDGE

  • You will be the same, year after year, except for the people you meet and the books you read
  • You can get what you want in life if you help other people get what they want
  • Lead with your ears
  • Success occurs when opportunity and preparation meet
  • It is not who you know that counts, it is who knows you and what they think of you
  • When you feel moments impacting your destiny, seize the opportunity

WHEN OPPORTUNITY ARRIVES

  • Too many people dream too small. Remember, you will never achieve more than you think you can. So create a big dream.
  • When opportunity knocks, seize it
  • Never let your expenses outstrip your revenue
  • Don’t be a banker for your customers. Timely collection of invoices is crucial
  • Your customers are your company lifeblood- treat them well
  • Nurture your people. They make it all happen. Without them, you have no company

LAUNCHING THE COMPANY

  • Unless you want to do all the work, you have to think of ways to come up with new sources of revenue
  • If you focus only on managing costs, your business will never grow
  • Don’t be afraid to seek advice when your business goes to a new level
  • Making a profit is always a necessity if you want to stay in business

FINANCIAL GROWING PAINS

  • As an entrepreneur, the secret to success is generating CASH, CASH, CASH
  • Without good cash management, you will never make it
  • Profit is the applause you get for taking care of your customers and creating a motivating environment for your people

and many many more….but i just need to end with the following summary:

LAST WORDS

  • Sales have to exceed expenses
  • Collect your bills
  • Take care of your customers
  • Take care of your people

Share with you more next time…on other good self-improvement books.

A Great Book with Great Tips to Live Your Life!

Over the last week or so, i was reading a No.1 New York Best-Seller on Self-Improvement known as “The 4-Hour Work Week” by Timothy Ferriss.

Really an awesome book. It empowers us on escaping the 9-5, Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich, where we live everyday to the fullest. We do not believe in Retirements when we are so rich at 5o years old. Instead, we believe in having many many mini-retirements throughout our life.

Who wants that? Highly recommended book for those that want more life than the 9-5 work week, especially for those that aspire to become an entrepreneur.

I seldom recommend books to others, but this one is really special!

Go Get The Book Now! You will be as happy as me. =)

Motivational Video – No Matter What

Came across the following video while i was on Youtube.

Thought it was a cool video that adds inspirational bits to others, so wanna share it with you.

Remember to keep pursuing your dreams, and work towards your goal relentlessly!

Happy 43rd National Day Singapore !

Lyrics:

Have you seen a star,
One that guides you no matter where you are?
However vast the sky may be
Or dark it seems
You can be sure, it’s always there for you and me

Have you heard a song,
One that moved you, one that made you sing along?
Your dreams and hopes will all come true
If you believe that every vision begins with you.

Shine for Singapore
This is your song
Deep inside your heart where it belongs
It’ll always stay, strive for your goals.
You will achieve with visions so bold.

Shine for Singapore
This is our song
Reach out for the sky, far and beyond
As one we’ll stand, we’re Singapore
It’s here that we belong

Have you heard a song,
One that moved you, one that made you sing along?
Your dreams and hopes will all come true
If you believe that every vision begins with you.

Shine for Singapore
This is your song
Deep inside your heart where it belongs
It’ll always stay, strive for your goals.
You will achieve with visions so bold.

Shine for Singapore
This is our song
Reach out for the sky, far and beyond
As one we’ll stand, we’re Singapore
It’s here that we belong

Nowhere i’d rather be, this is home to me
This star shines strong and free

Food For Thoughts

I have been reading couple of self-development books and recently came across several books from Paul Arden. I find his books very interesting and in fact, very straight to the point on how our mind process our thoughts.

We are want to be Great, but somehow, something seems to hold us back somewhere. His books causes some realization on my part, and i would highly recommend his books – which are so easy to read, but yet so Impactful.

Each book of his can be completed by a taxi ride, so get buy or borrow from library and read it!

Here is one of the pages that are adapted from his book:

Tips for Personal Development

Halo Readers!

Today we shall cover a little bit of Personal Developments. Personally, i am one that seeks active Personal Developments. Instead of waiting for someone or organization (if you work in one) to develop you, why not invest in yourself with education.

I love to read self-development books (in all areas: Motivation, Business, Sales, Negotiation, Mind Mapping, Creativity, Relationships, etc) as well as attending seminars, conferences and workshops.

Here is 3 main factors that we need to keep in mind if we start to self-develop:

1) Learn Everyday

It is important to block out time everyday to learn something that will move you forward each day in life. It is important to make continual learning a priority in your life everyday – whether it is listening to an audio or video program or reading a book. The compounded effect over time, even it is only 30 minutes a day, will create massive and awesome results in your life long term.

If you read only 30 minutes a day for an entire year, you will have learned more about improving your life in one year than the average person will learn in their adult life. That slight edge and advantage will make all the difference in creating success in your life. Learning is certainly the foundation for all success. It is actually where true success begins.

2) Stay In Peak Psychological State

In order to create power results in your life, you must learn to create a powerful psychological state. When you are tired, lethargic and feel down, it will be very difficult to create positive results. If you want to be in a leadership role, that is even more important. You need to realize that people want to follow a leader who has energy, motivation and enthusiasm.

If you are feeling down or tired, go do something like moving your body, going to the gym or a run, or do whatever you need to get your blood flowing. This is because when you change your physiological state, you also change your psychological state.

3) Dream Big!

Thinking and dreaming is free-of-charge. So why not think and dream Big! Too many people played too safe and tip-toe through life quietly so they can arrive at their grave safely. My personal belief is that at the end of your life, when you have finish your journey through this world, you should be feeling at peace and ease, and fulfilled by having pursued your dreams.

At the end of one’s life, no one ever said they were glad that they have played it safe. Many in fact will have regrets in life why they did not do something. We were are created equal and have the same ability to achieve greatness.

Remember – Do not let anyone steal your dreams away! A life worth living is a life worth fighting for your dreams.

Here is a quote from the famous Theodore Roosevelt:

“Far better is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”
