There are so many books and articles on negotiations in the m,arket. After reading so many of such books, i come to distill one important aspect to winning negotiations. We need to listen attentively. Whether you are negotiating a million-dollar deal, selling to customers, providing customer service, dealing with spouse, recruitment or even simply just trying to agree with a friend on where to go for dinner, the key to getting what you want is understanding the other party’s perspective. We are talking about his point of view and what he cares about.
By finding out what is important to the other party will allow you to better understand his values in a way that will satisfy both his and your interests. Once you take the time and effort to do so, you will be able to use that knowledge to influence their actions. The whole strategy is to get into someone else’s head to find out what makes them nod. In order to do so, we need to be very good listener because people will tell us what they care about only if we listen.

Managers and Human Resource Personnels, something interesting that you might want to take note. When it comes to what would keep employees in the job, bosses here in Singapore do not seem to be on the same wavelength as their staff, according to suvey conducted.
Some 45 percent of responders, mostly from Finance Sector ranked “more bonuses” as a main incentive, followed by “flexible working hours” and “stock options”. In contrast, about 170 employers thought subordinates would be enticed to stay on with “training and “development”, “career progression” and “basic salary increment”. Many employees are tempted to over to the greener sides.
There are more factors that helps the company to retain people. Engagement and a role to shape the company is a strong indication. Many people have also said “Customer focus” which is the sense that their work had impact on clients - in order to made them feel involved in their workplace.
Two other factors were fair compensation and benefits, as well as 2-way communication with their bosses.
So managers! What are your strategy fo Staff Retention?
Cheers

Our minds are always into thinking about it - Decisions and more Decisions to make. Our everyday life’s are full of it, small mundane ones to large life-changing types. To have the right to choose and make decisions are important to our well-being, and is central to us being an Individual. However, sometimes we just make decisions so bad that make us very unhappy or live with lifelong regrets.
Over the few decades, scientists, neurologists and psychologists are looking into the possible mental processes and signals that may affect our decision makings. Here i distilled some of the findings and will share with you 8 simple ways to make better decisions towards your success.
A) Danger of Social Pressure
Everyone of us would like to think of our-self as a single-minded individual and have a clear say of what we want, but in fact no one is immune to Social Pressure. Many studies have shown that human succumb to social pressure especially at extreme conditions.
We do have ways to avoid the the danger of Social Pressure. At anytime that you suspect that your decisions are based on what your superior or senior wanted, step back and re-group your thoughts. When you are in a group and everyone agree on a certain thing, don’t assume they are right and go along. Step back and ask yourself if this is true, and if not - be the one to oppose and share with them your thoughts and reasoning. Beware of situations when you have little responsibilities because that is where you are most likely to make irresponsible decisions and feedback.
